Summary
Cadillac Mountain Elementary School is seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Paraprofessional. This part-time position is designed to support the educational and developmental needs of students in the classroom setting. The ideal candidate will work closely with teachers and staff to enhance student learning and provide a positive and nurturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist classroom teachers in implementing lesson plans and instructional activities.
- Support students with special needs, including those with learning disabilities, behavioral challenges, and other individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers regarding student performance and behavior.
- Facilitate small group or one-on-one instruction to reinforce learning concepts and skills.
- Help maintain a positive classroom environment by promoting respect, cooperation, and engagement among students.
- Assist with classroom management and maintain a safe and organized learning space.
- Prepare instructional materials and resources as needed.
- Participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff regarding student progress and needs.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in education or child development preferred.
- Previous experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting is highly desirable.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with teachers, staff, and students.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping students succeed.
- Ability to adapt to the needs of diverse learners and implement individualized support strategies.
- Basic computer skills and proficiency in using educational technology.
- Must pass background checks as required by school district policies.
- Availability to work part-time hours, including mornings and afternoons, as needed.
