Summary:
We are seeking a full-time Paraprofessional to join our team at South High School. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing support to teachers and students in the classroom setting. The Paraprofessional will work under the direction of the classroom teacher and will assist in the implementation of academic and behavioral interventions.
Responsibilities:
- Provide support to teachers in the classroom setting
- Assist in the implementation of academic and behavioral interventions
- Work with individual students or small groups of students to reinforce learning concepts
- Assist in monitoring student behavior and implementing classroom management techniques
- Prepare instructional materials and resources as directed by the teacher
- Assist in the supervision of students during non-instructional times
- Attend staff meetings and professional development sessions as required
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Experience working with children in an educational setting preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and other staff members
- Ability to follow directions and work independently
- Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Must pass a criminal background check and drug test
