Outlook Academy is seeking a dedicated and passionate Paraprofessional to support our educational team in fostering a positive and productive learning environment. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and students to enhance educational experiences, provide individualized support, and assist in the development of academic and social skills. This full-time position requires a commitment to promoting student success and a collaborative spirit.
Responsibilities
- Assist teachers in the implementation of lesson plans and instructional activities.
- Provide one-on-one or small group support to students, addressing diverse learning needs.
- Monitor student progress and behavior, providing feedback and encouragement.
- Help maintain a safe and organized classroom environment.
- Support students with special needs by implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) and accommodations.
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to develop strategies for student engagement and success.
- Assist in the preparation of instructional materials and classroom resources.
- Participate in training and professional development opportunities as required.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff regarding student progress and needs.
- Perform administrative tasks such as record-keeping and data entry as needed.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree or higher preferred.
- Previous experience working with children in an educational setting is highly desirable.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, students, and parents.
- Patience, empathy, and a passion for supporting student learning and development.
- Knowledge of educational practices and child development principles.
- Proficiency in using technology and educational software.
- Ability to adapt to changing situations and demonstrate flexibility in a dynamic environment.
- Must pass background checks and any required certifications as mandated by state regulations.
