The Appleton Area School District has a position available for a 0.90 FTE (90%) Early Childhood Special Education - Cross Categorical Paraprofessional AM (Monday - Thursday) and 4KEC Self-Contained 4K PM (Monday - Friday) at McKinley Elementary School beginning with the 2025-2026 school year.
The ECSE AM/4KEC PM is located at McKinley Elementary ECSE (.4 FTE - Monday - Thursday AM) and 4KEC (.5 FTE Monday - Friday).
The paraprofessional in the Appleton Community 4K ECSE classroom will be an integral part of the team, talking and interacting with children to support language development and cognitive learning through play experiences. The paraprofessional must possess a willingness to become familiar with the AASD 4K Curriculum and Wisconsin Pyramid Model for Social Emotional Development. The 4K paraprofessional must work well with teachers and other service providers, as well as preschool age children, and be available for limited activities after school and in the evening. A special education paraprofessional may be required to assist students with personal care, including some toileting and feeding. Finally, there will be supervisory duties as specified by the administrator including before, during, and after school hours.
Certification Required: High School Diploma/GED or 48 college credits AND Special Education Aide License (can apply after being awarded position)
