JOB SUMMARY: Assists in the instruction and implementation of developmentally appropriate educational opportunities and curriculum to preschool age children that develops the whole child (cognitive, social emotional, language/communication, and physical development) while supporting and educating the parents to create a stronger parent child relationship so that the overall district educational objectives may be achieved.

 

WORK REQUIREMENTS AND CHARACTERISTICS:

 

Education/Certification/Licensure:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Minnesota driver’s license

 

Experience:

  • Prior experience working with children is preferred

  • Ability to keep an orderly and safe arrangement of the classroom
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions

JOB SUMMARY: A Paraprofessional with the Kids' Company program supports the program's daily operations by fostering a safe, structured, and engaging environment for enrolled children. Key responsibilities include supervising and interacting with children, facilitating choice-based activities, and monitoring interactions to encourage positive behaviors. This role also provides targeted support to students' social and emotional development, offering assistance to children who may need additional guidance. Strong interpersonal skills, patience, and a commitment to nurturing each child's growth are essential for success in this position.

 

WORK REQUIREMENTS AND CHARACTERISTICS:

 

Education/Certification/Licensure:  

  • High school diploma or equivalent (preferred) 
  • Could be a high school student  
  • Completion of a 1040 child contact hours using a combination of district training programs, experience, and coursework of an equivalent nature and level to perform the requirements of the work.  
  • CPR and First Aid Certified or willing to become certified within the first 90 days of employment  
  • Valid Minnesota Driver's License 

Experience:  

  • 1-3 years of early childhood or youth programming experience preferred 

Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:  

  • Ability to work effectively with students of all ages and abilities in a positive manner  
  • Ability to communicate in oral, written and web-based communication format with district personnel, staff, and families  
  • Ability to exercise confidentiality in handling district information
