Paraprofessional for Special Needs Program

The Franklin Township School District (Hunterdon County) is seeking passionate and dedicated Paraprofessionals to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will assist the classroom teacher by working with individual and small groups of preschool and/or special education student or students to provide them with physical and emotional support as needed to gain optimum benefit from the district’s special education program. 

Hours/Schedule:

• Schedule: Monday through Friday. February, 2026 through June 30, 2026.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Provide instructional reinforcement for students
• Attend to student's physical, personal, academic, and emotional needs
• Support students with special needs by following provisions specified in their IEPs/504 Plans
• Assist with administrative duties such as setting up equipment and preparing materials
• Assist teacher with classroom management and general supervision of the class as needed
• Perform other duties as directed by the classroom teacher and/or school administration

• High School diploma; college level coursework in education or related field preferred
• Substitute Teaching Certificate desired
• Ability to communicate effectively with students and school staff.
• Possess the desire to work with an understand children with learning and behavioral changes.
• Physical requirements: Sitting, standing, lifting and carrying, reaching, squatting/kneeling as appropriate to meet the physical demands of the educational setting.
• Required criminal history check and proof of U.S. citizenship or resident alien status
• Current Residency in New Jersey, approved residency waiver or candidate agrees to obtain residency within one year of employment.
