Title: Paraprofessional ~ Physical Education
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or G.E.D.
- Aptitude for the work to be performed
- Work history of good attendance, dependability, and punctuality
- Ability to work effectively without close supervision
- Ability to follow directions effectively
- Effective communication skills with children and adults
- Demonstrated computer skills appropriate for the position
- Ability to pass the requisite assessment.
Alternative to the above qualifications as the Governing Board finds appropriate and acceptable.
Reports to: Site administrators, teacher(s), director, or others depending on the position.
Works Closely With: Classroom teacher, principals, office personnel
Job Goal: To assist in providing a well-organized, smoothly-functioning school environment in which students can take full advantage of the instructional program and available resources.
Performance Responsibilities:

- Maintains and respects confidentiality of all information acquired.
- Prepares classroom activities under the supervision of the certified employee.
- Works in tandem with the certified teacher of physical education to introduce and supervise approved physical activities
- Assists individual students in need of special attention.
- Assists in preparing class equipment, materials, etc., as directed by the PE teachers.
- Assists in duties relating to supervision of student activities in any area on school campus where students are present as assigned by the principal.
- Operates office, audio/visual, and technology equipment as assigned by the PE teachers.
- Attends required professional development programs.
- Performs all other duties as may be assigned for the benefit of school programs.
Terms of Employment: School days and hours per year as designated in a one-year work agreement. Salary to be established with the Board.
Evaluation: Performance will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on Evaluation of Administrative Personnel.
