QUALIFICATIONS: 

1.     High school graduate having had experience working with special needs students.

2.    Minimum of two years community college credit preferred or successful completion of the WorkKeys or ETS Parapro Assessment.

3.    Cooperative, positive and flexible in student/staff relationships.

4.    Patience in instruction and the ability to be satisfied with seeing small increments in progress during the students’ school year.

5.    Ability to follow curriculum and instructor’s written and verbal instructions.

6.    Good attendance and punctuality record at previous job or educational experience.

7.   Crisis Prevention Institute certification or willingness to obtain.

8.    Must pass criminal history background check as required by School Safety Legislation.

 

ASSIGNED RESPONSIBILITIES SHALL INCLUDE BUT NOT BE LIMITED TO:

 

1.     Directly responsible to the classroom teacher.

2.    Under the direct supervision of the classroom teacher assist in:

a.    Operation of classroom

b.    Preparing instructional materials

c.     Maintaining classroom

d.    Instructing/supervising students throughout the school program

e.    Maintaining good home and school relations

f.     Assisting students entering and exiting building

g.    Other duties as assigned by the teacher/principal

 

WORKYEAR:            186 days

START DATE:            August 26, 2025

SALARY:                     Per Macomb Intermediate Federation of Paraprofessionals Master Agreement. Minimum starting salary $20.51 per hour.
