    Job Goal
    To help meet the physical and instructional needs of individual students with disabilities inside and outside the classroom.  Assist with the implementation of students’ Individual Education Plans (IEP), including self-help, behavior management, and instructional programs. 
    Works under the direct supervision and direction of the classroom teacher: to assist the student with disabilities one-to-one in the classroom to achieve needed skills and requirements for succeeding in school; and to provide supplemental and clerical services to assist the classroom teacher. 

    Qualifications
    • Paraprofessionals must complete at least two years (60 credits) from an accredited college or pass the Paraprofessional Assessment offered by ETS.
    • Previous experience working with students in a classroom setting preferred.
    • Demonstrated ability to work with students with disabilities.
    • Knowledge of child growth and development and appropriate classroom practices and demonstrated ability to assist with instructional activities.
    • Good oral and written communication skills.
    • Demonstrated ability to maintain effective and cooperative relationships with teachers, students and all other stakeholders.
    • Effectively communicates and understands job instruction both verbally and written in the English language.
    • Required approved criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status.
