    The Appleton Area School District has a position available for a 1.0 FTE (100%) Special Education Paraprofessional primarily in an Vision Impairment program at West High School / Itinerant beginning with the 2025-2026 school year.


    The paraprofessional for blind/low vision students' role is to support the teacher, either the classroom teacher and/or the teacher for students with visual impairments, and/or others working with the student. The support is centered on specific IEP goals and objectives for the student. This support can include modifying materials, assisting with reading displayed text on the front monitor, giving one-on-one assistance in specific tasks, helping with behavior, providing opportunities for practice to reinforce previously learned skills (braille, technology, orientation and mobility), or collecting data related to IEP objectives. Knowledge of, or willingness to learn, the Unified English Braille code is encouraged.

    Education Required: High School Diploma / GED / HSED AND a special education aide license (can apply for after awarded position)


    Salary: Step 1: $16.82


    Schedule: 7:45-3:32pm (M-F) 35 hours/week
