    PARAPROFESSIONAL
    REPORTS TO: Assigned School Building Administration
    PAY TYPE: Hourly, Non-Exempt, Classified, Non-Supervisory
    PAY RATE: Starting at $15 / hr., with potential for increases based on experience
    BENEFITS: Eligible for benefits depending on hours worked (see attachment for details)
    SCHEDULE: Full & Part-time; Up to 7.5 hrs. / day; Up to 186 paid days / year; Follows school calendar

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Provides instructional support to individual students or small groups under the direction of a supervising teacher
    • Collaborates with teachers and staff to enhance students’ educational experience
    • Implements students’ Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) as directed
    • Other duties as assigned

    JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
    • Education, Training, and Experience Required:
      • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent required
      • Minimum Education Requirement (one of the following):
        • Completion of at least two years (60 course credits) of college-level coursework
        • An associate degree or higher
        • A passing score on the ParaPro Assessment
      • Prior experience in schools or child care
      • Previous experience working with individuals with special needs
    • Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Worker Characteristics:
      • Strong written and verbal communication skills
      • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, counselors, parents, and other professionals
      • Excellent dependability and punctuality
      • Positive and enthusiastic attitude

    WORKING CONDITIONS:
    • Works indoors in a school environment
    • May work in close proximity to students and staff
    • Occasionally exposed to noise levels typical in school settings
