 Position Overview

Lead curriculum development and instruction for paramedic courses including teaching didactic, lab, clinical, and simulation sessions. Oversee part-time instructors and ensure compliance with state and national EMS standards.

Key Responsibilities

·         Lead curriculum development and instruction for paramedic courses (didactic, lab, clinical, simulation).

·         Schedule, supervise, mentor part‑time instructors and adjunct faculty.

·         Evaluate student performance; manage records, clinical tracking, assessments.

·         Ensure program complies with national/state EMS accreditation (e.g., CoAEMSP, OEMS).

·         Maintain currency in EMS practices and adult learning methodologies; participate in professional development.

Qualifications

Education & Certification

·         Associate’s degree (minimum) in EMS, Paramedic Science, Emergency Health Services, or related field.

·         Current Paramedic license (state and/or National Registry) and EMS Instructor credentials.

Experience

·         At least 3–5 years of clinical EMS/practice experience as a paramedic.

·         Minimum 1–3 years of teaching experience in EMS/paramedic education (classroom, lab, clinical).

Instructor Certifications

·         AHA: BLS, ACLS, PALS

 

Skills & Abilities

·         Strong curriculum development, assessment, and evaluation capabilities.

·         Proficient in simulation-based training and clinical coordination.

·         Familiar with CoAEMSP or equivalent EMS accreditation standards.

·         Excellent communication, leadership, and ability to work with diverse learners.

·         Ability to demonstrate clinical skills (e.g., CPR, intubation) and stand for extended periods.

Nice-to-Have (Preferred)

·         Experience in online/hybrid EMS course delivery.

·         Supervisory/mentorship experience with adjunct or lab staff.
