Liaison between school districts and paraprofessional central office staff.
Assists with the supervision of paraprofessionals.
Maintains a high level of professionalism while representing the commission out on the field.
Maintains a tracking log of school visits.
Visits schools where paraprofessional staff are deployed:
Signs in/out of each school visited.
Verifies employees are reporting to correct classroom; documents inaccuracies as observed.
Engages with the paraprofessional during school visits and enforces protocols such as: dress code, cell phone use and attendance concerns.
Observes the paraprofessional’s engagement with students and when needed, addresses areas of concern with the staff member.
Communicates with the Paraprofessional Office daily to keep the Program Director abreast of any developments or concerns with the program.
Conducts investigations as needed.
Assists in mediating and resolving concerns/issues related to the program.
Independently answers routine questions and correspondence from staff.
Employee is required to promptly report any suspicion of abuse to both the Division of Child Protection and Permanency (DCPP) and the Program Director.
Employee is expected to share information pertinent to the success and longevity of the Paraprofessional Program.
Provides an end of shift report.
Ensures that each paraprofessional completes an annual professional development plan form.
Distributes paraprofessional identification cards to employees.
Maintains confidentiality at all times.
Recommends improvements as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
Conducts all job functions in accordance with the law and Board Policies while exhibiting high standards of professional and ethical behavior.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma; higher degree preferred.
Ability to problem-solve, analyze issues and provide solutions as needed.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and establish effective working relationships with all stakeholders.
Demonstrate ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Must pass CHRU background check.
Proof of recent TB screening.
PAY RATE: $28.00/hour
TERM OF CONTRACT: 11 Month Position
