Position Overview:
- Middle School Reading Intervention (8:15 AM - 10:15 AM):
- Deliver intensive, specially designed instruction focused on reading intervention methods for a small caseload of two middle school students.
- High School Math Focus (10:40 AM - 12:40 PM):
- Provide individualized instruction specializing in high school mathematics content and related academic IEP goals for one student.
- Develop and implement function-based academic and behavioral strategies, utilizing IEP Direct and assessment data to continuously adjust and monitor all student Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Ensure comprehensive IEP management by conducting formal/informal assessments, interpreting diagnostic results, and facilitating crucial collaboration with parents and multidisciplinary staff.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Valid Connecticut Special Education Teacher Certification (#165) (Required)
- Orton-Gillingham (OG) certification or Reading Specialist Endorsement (Preferred for Middle School position)
- Experience in teaching High School Mathematics within a special education or resource setting (Preferred for High School position)
