Resurgence Hall Charter School is seeking experienced, certified special educators who are interested in returning to the profession in a part-time capacity. This role is ideal for retired Georgia educators who hold a valid Special Education certification and want to continue serving scholars without the demands of a full-time schedule.

Responsibilities 

  • Provide small-group and one-on-one instructional support for scholars with IEPs in reading, writing, and/or math

  • Implement accommodations, modifications, and instructional strategies aligned to each scholar’s IEP

  • Support progress monitoring through curriculum-based measures, work samples, and assessment data

  • Assist in reteach or intervention planning as needed based on scholar performance

  • Partner with the case manager to maintain accurate documentation in GO-IEP and school platforms

  • Collect and submit progress monitoring data for IEP progress reports

  • Attend IEP meetings as needed (virtual or on-site as available)

  • Communicate regularly with families regarding scholar progress in collaboration with the case manager

  • Collaborate with general education teachers to ensure scholars receive required supports in all settings

  • Participate in limited team meetings or professional learning aligned to part-time schedule

  • Provide occasional class coverage or scholar supervision only as aligned to the 19-hour weekly maximum

  • Perform other duties, as deemed appropriate, by the Director of Culture & Instruction


Qualifications/Certification- All candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree; a Master’s degree is a plus. All candidates must hold a valid Georgia Special Education certification (or retired certificate still eligible under GaPSC rules).


Prior Experience- At least 2 years of full-time teaching experience in special education at the elementary or middle school level and a demonstrated ability to raise achievement levels of traditionally underserved students highly preferred.  Sense of humility, urgency, and interest in growing. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

 

Schedule - 19 hours per week in alignment with TRS Part-Time Return-to-Work guidelines.
