    Qualifications:
    NJ Teacher Handicapped Certification 
    OR NJ Teacher of Students with Disabilities AND NJ Elementary School Teacher K-5 Certification
    In-depth knowledge, and experience with the NJ Student Learning Standards 
    Excellent classroom management and communication skills 
    Experience writing and implementing individualized education plans 
    Prior Special Education and Elementary teaching experience preferred 
    Extra duties as assigned by the building Principal and Special Education Supervisor  
    Salary: $50,490
    Replacement Substitute Teacher Assignment September 17, 2025 through January 26, 2026.
     

    All alternate route candidates (“Certificate of Eligibility) must show completion of 50 hours of pre-service training through a DOE approved CE educator program prior to being interviewed for a position. The certificate of completion must be uploaded into the AppliTrack portal in order for alternate route candidates to be considered.     *In accordance with S-414/A-3188 (http://www.njleg.state.nj.us/2018/Bills/S0500/414_R2.HTM), school districts, charter schools, nonpublic schools, and contracted service providers (“employers”) are required to review the last twenty years of employment history of prospective employees to ascertain allegations of child abuse or sexual misconduct. It explicitly prohibits such employers from hiring a person serving in a position which involves regular contact with students unless the employer conducts a review of the employment history of the applicant by contacting former and current employers and requesting information regarding child abuse and sexual misconduct allegations.
