    QUALIFICATIONS
    1. Preferred Bachelor’s degree for this position.
    2. Previous aide, teaching or student support experience preferred
    3. Knowledge of child growth and development and appropriate behavior intervention practices
    4. Knowledgeable with word processing, data bases, spread sheets, and reports
    5. Works well with students, staff, and the public
    6. Excellent organizational skills
    7. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
    8. Able to work under pressure and deadlines
    9. Maintain confidentiality of staff and students
     
    REPORTS TO: Building Principal
     
    JOB GOALS:
     
    To work under the direction of the Building Principal and district office administration in achieving the behavior goals and objectives of all students through individual, small group, or whole group interventions.
     
    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
               
    Working with Students
    1. Maintain high academic standards and behavior expectations
    2. Provide feedback on behavior performance to students, teacher, and the principal
    3. Respond to teachers’ questions and requests for behavior assistance
    4. Observe students’ work, behavior, and study habits 
    5. Help classroom teachers in making referrals for assistance with student behaviors
    6. Work with individual students or small groups of students to reinforce learning of behavior skills
    7. Assist students as needed to utilize calming techniques when they exhibit escalating behavior   
    8. Help communicate school wide rules and PBIS protocols to students and faculty
     
    Other
    1. Keep accurate records and maintain individual records for students with intervention plans
    2. Complete clerical duties related to behavior as assigned
    3. Attend PBIS and faculty meetings as required
    4. Assume responsibility for continuing professional growth and development
    5. Seek assistance should emergencies arise
    6. Represent the school district in a positive manner
    7. Know and follow school district policy and chain of command
    8. Perform other duties as assigned
     
    TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

    EVALUATION:
     
    Performance of this position will be evaluated by the building principal.
