Secondary Special Education Paraprofessionals

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work with classroom teacher and facilitate learning with students
  • Work with students who require special education support, including behavioral needs
  • Ability to effectively communicate and build relationships with students, staff and families
  • Ability to work independently
  • Consistently maintain confidentiality
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Willingness to attend to the personal care needs of students, while maintaining their dignity
  • CPI (Nonviolent Crisis Intervention) certified or able to be certified
  • Be a proper role model for students
  • Navigate and guide students with educational programs and applications
  • Willing to be flexible with daily schedule

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associates Degree or Equivalent (Preferred)
  • Two years of college training (Preferred) or;
  • WorKeys Certified or a passing ETS Parapro Assessment score
