Description

Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Part-Time Special Education Teacher to serve as the case manager for 6th grade students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), including students with Intellectual Disabilities (ID). The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with general education teachers, related service providers, students, and families to ensure meaningful access to instruction and support student growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as case manager for assigned 6th grade students with IEPs, including students with ID

  • Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in compliance with state and federal regulations

  • Provide direct specialized instruction and/or support as outlined in student IEPs

  • Collaborate with general education teachers to support inclusion and accommodations

  • Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation and records

  • Participate in IEP meetings, team meetings, and parent communication as needed

  • Coordinate services with related service providers and support staff

  • Support positive behavior interventions and social-emotional development

Schedule & Compensation:

  • Part-time position (schedule to be determined based on student needs)

  • Compensation commensurate with experience and district guidelines

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Valid Special Education teaching certification/licensure 

  • Experience working with middle school students preferred

  • Experience or familiarity working with students with Intellectual Disabilities

  • Strong knowledge of IEP development, progress monitoring, and compliance

  • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
