    Wood Dale School District 7 is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Self-Contained Special Education Teacher to serve students in grades K�2. The ideal candidate is committed to fostering an inclusive, supportive, and structured learning environment where all students can grow academically, socially, and emotionally. This position plays a critical role in supporting the district's mission to ensure high levels of learning for every student.

     

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) to meet the unique needs of each student
    • Provide differentiated, standards-aligned instruction in literacy, math, and social-emotional learning
    • Use data to inform instruction and monitor student progress toward IEP goals
    • Implement positive behavior supports and individualized behavior intervention plans
    • Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families to support student success
    • Maintain accurate and compliant documentation in accordance with state and federal regulations
    • Foster a structured, safe, and engaging classroom environment that promotes independence and growth
    • Participate in IEP meetings, professional learning communities, and ongoing professional development
    • Demonstrated ability to support diverse learners in a self-contained setting
    • Strong classroom leadership, communication, collaboration, and organizational skills

    Qualifications:

    • Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with LBS1 endorsement
    • ESL Endorsement required or willingness to obtain within a specific timeframe
