Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Special Education Paraprofessional at CUE, located in an Upper Elementary School. This full-time position involves supporting students with diverse learning needs to ensure they achieve their academic and social potential. The ideal candidate will work closely with teachers and other staff members to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Responsibilities
- Assist the classroom teacher in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs.
- Provide one-on-one and small group support to students during instructional activities.
- Help students with daily living skills, including personal hygiene, mobility, and social interactions.
- Monitor and document student progress, behavior, and engagement, providing feedback to the teacher.
- Facilitate communication between students and staff, ensuring all students feel included and supported.
- Assist in the preparation of instructional materials and classroom resources.
- Support students during transitions between classes and during lunch or recess.
- Participate in team meetings and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Maintain a safe and orderly classroom environment conducive to learning.
- Collaborate with other paraprofessionals, specialists, and support staff to address the needs of students.

Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; an associate degree or higher in education, psychology, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience working with children, particularly those with special needs, is highly desirable.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with students, parents, and staff.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and follow directions from the classroom teacher.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping students succeed.
- Knowledge of special education practices and familiarity with IEPs is a plus.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
- Physical ability to assist students with mobility or personal care needs as required.
- Willingness to undergo background checks and any required training or certifications.
