Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to join our team at EC Middle/High School. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing individualized instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs, ensuring they achieve their academic and personal goals. This full-time position requires a commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment that promotes student growth and development.

Responsibilities
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to meet the unique needs of each student.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and parents to ensure a cohesive approach to student learning and development.
- Provide direct instruction in academic subjects, life skills, and social-emotional learning to students with varying disabilities.
- Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting teaching strategies and interventions as needed.
- Create a positive and structured classroom environment that encourages student engagement and participation.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance, behavior, and progress towards IEP goals.
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of student assessments and evaluations.
- Stay current with best practices in special education and participate in ongoing professional development.
- Advocate for students' needs and rights within the school and community.
- Foster relationships with families and provide resources and support to help them engage in their child's education.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Valid state teaching certification in Special Education.
- Experience working with students with disabilities in an educational setting.
- Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of educators, support staff, and families.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping students succeed.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Familiarity with assistive technology and adaptive teaching methods is a plus.
