Essential Functions
Instructional Management
1. Participate in ARD Committee meetings on a regular basis.
2. Collaborate with students, parents, and other members of staff to develop IEP through the
3. ARD Committee process for each student assigned.
4. Cooperates with other members of the staff in planning and implementing instructional goals, objectives, and
5. methods in accordance with district requirements.
6. Assists in the selection of appropriate instructional accommodations and supplemental aids as necessary.
7. Assesses the progress of students on an annual basis.
8. Assume responsibility for duties.
Personnel Management
9. Assist in orienting new instructional staff in the ARD process.
10. Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect equipment, materials, and facilities.
School/Community Relations
11. Establish and maintain open lines of communication with students and their parents.
12. Maintain a professional relationship with all colleagues, students, parents, and community members.
13. Use acceptable communication skills to present information accurately and clearly.
Professional Growth and Development
14. Participate in the district professional development program.
15. Demonstrate interest and initiative in professional improvement.
16. Observe professional and ethical standards in accordance with generally accepted community standards and
the Texas Education Agency code of ethics.
Policy Implementation
17. Keep informed of and comply with federal state, district, and school regulations and policies.
18. Assume responsibility for compiling, maintaining, and filing all reports, records, and other documents
required.
19. Attend and participate in compliance meetings and activities.
Other Duties
20. Perform such duties as may be assigned or as may be necessary for job effectiveness.
Qualification Requirements:
21. Knowledge of special needs of students in assigned area
22. Knowledge of Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) Committee process and Individual Educational Plan (IEP) goal setting process an implementation
23. General knowledge of curriculum and instruction
24. Ability to work well with a diverse population
