    At Northeast College Prep, we believe all students thrive in safe, structured, and caring environments. We’re hiring a full-time Behavior Intervention Paraprofessional to help create those spaces—one relationship, one redirection, and one restorative moment at a time.

     

    In this role, you’ll work directly with students across grade levels to support positive behavior, implement plans designed by licensed staff, and help maintain a calm, welcoming school environment. You’ll be a trusted adult who models patience, consistency, and compassion—especially when students need it most.

     

    Location: 300 Industrial Blvd NE, Minneapolis, MN
    Start Date: August 2025
    Starting Salary: $40,000-$45,000 + full benefits

     

     

     

    What You’ll Do

     
    • Respond to behavior needs as they arise during the school day
       

    • Support the implementation of Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) and Positive Behavior Support Plans for students with IEPs.
       

    • Provide consistent, calm, and supportive redirection
       

    • Track student behavior and complete documentation as directed by licensed staff
       

    • Supervise and support students during transitions, breaks, lunch, recess, and other key times
       

    • Build strong relationships with students and help them feel safe, seen, and supported
       

    • Collaborate closely with teachers and Special Education staff
       

    • Help maintain a safe, clean, and positive school environment
       

    • Participate in training and coaching—and apply feedback to grow
       

    • Be reliable, punctual, and ready to help where needed each day

    What You Bring

     

    Required:

     
    • At least 2 years of college or willingness to pass the MN Paraprofessional Test within 30 days of hire

    • PCM certification (or willingness to become certified within 30 days)

    • Experience supporting student behavior, particularly students with autism or behavioral challenges

    • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and remain on your feet for extended periods

    • Eligibility to work in the U.S.

    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

    • Commitment to equity and inclusion in education
       

     

    Preferred:

     
    • Experience working with K–8 students, especially in urban or multilingual communities

    • Fluency or proficiency in Spanish or Somali

    • Familiarity with Google Docs, Sheets, and behavior tracking tools

    • A warm, firm approach and an intuitive sense for student needs
