At Northeast College Prep, we believe all students thrive in safe, structured, and caring environments. We’re hiring a full-time Behavior Intervention Paraprofessional to help create those spaces—one relationship, one redirection, and one restorative moment at a time.
In this role, you’ll work directly with students across grade levels to support positive behavior, implement plans designed by licensed staff, and help maintain a calm, welcoming school environment. You’ll be a trusted adult who models patience, consistency, and compassion—especially when students need it most.
Location: 300 Industrial Blvd NE, Minneapolis, MN
Start Date: August 2025
Starting Salary: $40,000-$45,000 + full benefits
Respond to behavior needs as they arise during the school day
Support the implementation of Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) and Positive Behavior Support Plans for students with IEPs.
Provide consistent, calm, and supportive redirection
Track student behavior and complete documentation as directed by licensed staff
Supervise and support students during transitions, breaks, lunch, recess, and other key times
Build strong relationships with students and help them feel safe, seen, and supported
Collaborate closely with teachers and Special Education staff
Help maintain a safe, clean, and positive school environment
Participate in training and coaching—and apply feedback to grow
Be reliable, punctual, and ready to help where needed each day

Required:
At least 2 years of college or willingness to pass the MN Paraprofessional Test within 30 days of hire
PCM certification (or willingness to become certified within 30 days)
Experience supporting student behavior, particularly students with autism or behavioral challenges
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and remain on your feet for extended periods
Eligibility to work in the U.S.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Commitment to equity and inclusion in education
Preferred:
Experience working with K–8 students, especially in urban or multilingual communities
Fluency or proficiency in Spanish or Somali
Familiarity with Google Docs, Sheets, and behavior tracking tools
A warm, firm approach and an intuitive sense for student needs
