    Special Education Coordinator for the 

    Extended School Year Program 

     

    DATES:  7/6/2026-8/6/2026       4 days per week  Monday thru Thursday

     

    HOURS: 7:45 am to 12:45 pm  = 5 hours per day

                  or

                  8:15 am to 1:15pm  = 5 hours per day

    **Additional hours required and will be assigned by Special Education Admin

     

    TITLE: ESY Special Education Coordinator  

     

    QUALIFICATIONS: 

    • 1. Appropriate Massachusetts Licensure
    • 2. A Bachelor's or Master's Degree from an accredited college or university with certification in special education

    REPORTS TO: Special Education Assistant Superintendent/Chief Compliance officer

     

    SKILLS/RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Oversee day-to-day operations of ESY program (i.e. transportation, staff coverages, meal delivery, payroll, etc.)
    • Ensure staff adherence to all ESY program protocols
    • Create program-wide and age-specific schedules
    • Collaborate with building principal, office personnel, and custodial staff to similatantely maintain ESY and typical school-based operations
    • Communicate important information regularly to all program stakeholders, including ESY staff, district special education staff, guardians, and students
    • Inventory and ensure proper transportation of individualized student equipment
    • Implement state/district health, safety, and student discipline protocols
    • Coordinate community and curriculum-based events (per the guidance of the Program Director)
    • Assist Program Director with the creation of classroom rosters, staff hiring, student registration, and other related program tasks
    • Assist Program Director with the planning and running of staff orientation
    • Candidate should have strong communication skills, solid organizational skills, be able to collaborate with multiple stakeholders, and have good attendance
    • Experience working with elementary, middle school, and/or high school students is preferred

    SALARY AND TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:  Hourly rate in accordance with the FRPS Educators Association or Administrators Association Contract
