    POSITION: Special Education Paraprofessional

    SALARY: Dependent on years of school paraprofessional experience

    Hourly rate starting at $16.22

    EDUCATIONAL

     

    REQUIREMENTS: High School Diploma and one of the following:

     
    • Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood or Child Development

    • Center-Based Preschool CDA credential

    • Existing 120 Hour approval

    • A minimum of one course that earns college credit in child development or early childhood education, and the ability to obtain a Child Development Associate Credential within 24 months from the date of hire

    • Will work with employees to acquire needed skills 

     

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

     
    • Assist teacher in the instruction of 4 year old children of all abilities

    • Assist teacher in planning and implementing a healthy, safe, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for preschool children

    • Assist teacher in implementing a curriculum that promotes developmental gains toward the attainment of life skills

    • Assist with using assessment data to inform whole-group instruction, small-group, and individual instruction

    • Communicate with parents regarding the progress of students and include them in setting curricular goals for their child

    • Implement Positive Behavior Intervention Supports (PBIS) in the classroom

    • Assist with maintaining accurate and up-to-date child records

    • Work with parents to promote positive parent/child relationships, including family events in the classroom and take-home activities

    • Attend professional development opportunities and required trainings

    • Assist students with self-care and hygiene needs

    • Champion and promote diversity, equity, and inclusion

    • Other duties as assigned by administration
