    Position Summary:
    The Special Education Paraprofessional will provide instructional and behavioral support to students with severe disabilities in a variety of educational settings. This role includes working alongside certified staff to implement individualized education plans (IEPs), assist with student supervision, and ensure the safety and well-being of students throughout the school day.

    Qualifications:

     
    • High school diploma or equivalent required
    • Experience working with students with special needs, including support for personal care and daily living tasks
    • Ability to effectively supervise and support students with disabilities
    • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with teachers, specialists, and other support staff
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Knowledge of and responsiveness to the individual needs of students
    • Willingness to complete training in nonviolent physical restraint techniques
    • Successful completion of all required criminal background checks and fingerprinting
    Key Responsibilities:
    • Assist in the delivery of instructional activities and support students' educational goals
    • Work in inclusive, special education, and independent learning environments
    • Provide continuous supervision of students during the school day
    • Assist students with physical needs, including lifting and mobility as required
    • Prepare and maintain documentation and reports as directed by teachers and administrators
    • Support the implementation of behavior intervention strategies and student support plans
     

    Salary and Benefits:

     
    • Work Schedule: 150 workdays per year, 7.5 hours per day, 4-day school week
    • Compensation: Salary based on the district’s Classified Salary Schedule
