  •   The Special Education Department of the Dallastown Area School District seeks a Part-Time Autistic Support Paraprofessional at Ore Valley Elementary School (Grades K-3).

    As a instructional paraprofessional, you'll play a valuable role in inspiring and creating pathways for student success by supporting special education teachers in the delivery of supports and services for students with IEPs.

    Your work schedule will follow student attendance full and half days during the school year -- approximately 180 student days mid-August through early June -- with full-day hours of approximately 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM, which includes 5.50 work hours and a half-hour unpaid lunch.  Additional days may be arranged by your supervisor. While there are typically no pay periods July through August, you'll enjoy summers off to spend more time with your family.  For a full school year, your bi-weekly pays will typically begin by mid-September and continue through late-June. 

    Paid Leave:  Holiday pay for Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and New Year's Day, and, after a Probationary Period of 90 school-year calendar days, you would also be eligible for personal and sick days.

    Minimum Qualifications:
    • Experience working with students on the autism spectrum and knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis is strongly preferred.
    • Highly Qualified = High School Diploma (or GED equivalent) AND successful completion of a state or locally developed assessment, OR
      • Completed at least two years of postsecondary study (48 credit hours or more), OR
      • Associate’s Degree or higher
    • Completion of at least 20 hours of staff development activities related to assignment each school year
    • Child-centered, warm, and receptive to children
    • Ability to carry out oral and written communications/instructions and work cooperatively with others
    • Acceptable record of attendance

    • udent's IEP to allow access to the educational environment.
    • Assisting teachers in presentation and development of learning materials and instructional exercises
    • Performing routine clerical work
    • Working with instructional media, office machines, and equipment
