Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team at Gooding Elementary School as a Special Education Preschool ParaProfessional. This full-time position plays a crucial role in supporting children with special needs in a preschool setting. The ideal candidate will work closely with teachers and other staff to create a nurturing and inclusive environment that promotes the academic, social, and emotional development of each child.

Responsibilities
- Assist the lead teacher in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs.
- Support students in daily activities, including learning, play, and self-care tasks.
- Monitor and document student progress, behavior, and development, providing feedback to the teacher.
- Facilitate small group and one-on-one instruction to reinforce learning objectives.
- Help create and maintain a safe, welcoming, and engaging classroom environment.
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and parents to ensure effective communication and support for each child's needs.
- Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in special education.
- Assist with classroom management and promote positive behavior among students.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the lead teacher or school administration.

Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree or higher in education, special education, or a related field preferred.
- Previous experience working with children, particularly in a special education setting, is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of special education practices, IEPs, and developmental milestones for preschool-aged children.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with students, parents, and staff.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and adapt to the needs of individual students.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children with special needs.
- Basic computer skills for documentation and communication purposes.
- CPR and First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain within a specified timeframe.
- Background check clearance as required by school district policies.
