For 2026-2027 school year: This position is a 7 – 12 Special Education teacher position requiring an endorsement in Special Education at minimum. The district’s special education service delivery model includes in-class support, co-teaching opportunities, resource rooms, and replacement classes. With this position, duties and responsibilities include:
- Conducting assessments of special learning needs (e.g. educational, functional, behavioral, vocational)
- Developing IEP, including educational and/or behavior plans and implementing specialized instruction
- Assessing student progress that adheres to policies and procedures of the District, and meets the individual needs of students as identified on individual IEPs
- Implementing programs to fulfill IEPs and maintain appropriate IEP data
- Providing adaptive curriculum and/or guidance to modify regular curriculum to meet individual needs in regular education classrooms or self-contained settings
- Providing direct support to students with disabilities in basic academic skills
- Working cooperatively with regular education teachers, instructional assistants, and other student services staff; including consulting, working in regular education classrooms, team teaching, and directing the activities of assigned non-certificated personnel.
Extracurricular opportunities may be available in the high school and/or junior high school sports and activities.
The Port Orford – Langlois School District is comprised of two locations: Driftwood Elementary School, a K – 6 school located in Port Orford with a population of 102 students, and Pacific High School, located seven miles north of Port Orford and seven miles south of Langlois that houses 107 students in grades 7 – 12.
