Newburyport High School is seeking a licensed special educator who is able to:
Prepare lesson plans that reflect Massachusetts’ curriculum frameworks and individualizes instruction based on student needs. Designs, modifies and/or selects instructional materials and strategies appropriate to individual student needs. Employs differentiated instruction using a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media and materials. Ability to collaborate and co-teach various subject areas. Oversee one or more sections of academic support class. Strong communication skills. Act as the liaison to a caseload of students and their families. Experience in administering educational testing and writing IEP’s. The successful candidate must hold a current license in moderate disabilities in Massachusetts.
Dual certification in special education and a general education field is preferred.
SEI Endorsement required
DESE Moderate or Severe Disabilities license required
Salary as per contract negotiated between the NTA and the Newburyport School Committee
