Special Education Teacher Assistant Responsibilities & Duties 

• Implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for each student under the guidance of the special education teacher 
• Contribute to a supportive and inclusive learning environment for students with diverse needs 
• Support in the assessment of students' progress and support student growth in response to the data 
• Collaborate with other teachers and staff to ensure student success 
• Implement positive behavior interventions and support (PBIS) and other behavior management strategies  
• Ability to work as part of a team in creating a strong classroom culture that focuses on student learning and safety 
• Be able to interpret written plans and implement lessons with a small group of students 
• Experience using technology and multimedia resources in the classroom 
• Eagerness to learn and develop skills as an educator  

Special Education Teacher Assistant Qualifications & Skills 

• High School diploma required 
• Experience working with school aged children with special needs is preferred 
• Knowledge of individualized education plans and behavior management strategies is preferred 
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills  
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues
