Middle Park High School is seeking dedicated, knowledgeable, and compassionate licensed Special Education teachers to support students with diverse learning needs. Special Education teachers work collaboratively with general education teachers, support staff, and families to provide individualized instruction and ensure students have access to meaningful educational opportunities.
Teachers in these roles develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs), provide specialized instruction, monitor student progress, and support students in developing academic, functional, and life skills that promote independence and postsecondary success.
Developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) aligned with student needs and state standards
Providing specialized instruction and support in academic, behavioral, and functional skill areas
Monitoring student progress and maintaining required documentation
Collaborating with general education teachers to support inclusive practices and accommodations
Communicating regularly with parents, staff, and service providers
Participating in IEP meetings, eligibility meetings, and multidisciplinary team collaboration
Supporting students in developing skills that prepare them for postsecondary education, employment, and independent living
Maintaining classroom records and participating in school activities and professional collaboration
Possess knowledge of current special education instructional practices and compliance requirements
Create a classroom environment that is structured, supportive, and conducive to learning
Establish and communicate clear expectations and goals for students
Utilize a variety of instructional strategies, assistive technology, and differentiated instruction
Collaborate effectively with teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers
Analyze student data to guide instruction and support student growth
Serve as a model for the district’s mission, vision, and goals
Appropriate Colorado Special Education teaching license required. Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills are essential. Experience working with students with diverse learning needs is preferred.
Positions may include responsibilities in either a Significant Needs program supporting students with intensive academic, behavioral, and life skills needs, or a Mild/Moderate program supporting students in accessing the general education curriculum with specialized instruction and accommodations.
Middle Park High School is located in Granby, Colorado, 90 miles northwest of Denver and just 20 miles from the Winter Park ski area. Our school operates on a four-day school week (Monday–Thursday) from 8:00 a.m. to 4:18 p.m., following a 4 × 4 alternating block schedule, allowing for extended instructional time and long weekends.
MPHS has approximately 400 students in grades 9–12 and serves the communities of Winter Park, Fraser, Tabernash, Granby, Grand Lake, Hot Sulphur Springs, and surrounding areas. The area offers exceptional access to skiing, snowboarding, hiking, mountain biking, fishing, and other outdoor recreation opportunities, making it an outstanding place to live and work.
