Position Overview
BEAM is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher. This position supports students in a Moderate/Severe special education classroom, providing both instructional and behavioral support in collaboration with district staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialized academic instruction to students with moderate to severe disabilities
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Implement and support behavior intervention plans (BIPs) using evidence-based practices
- Collaborate with paraprofessionals, behavior specialists, related service providers, and school administrators
- Collect and analyze student data to monitor progress and adjust instruction
- Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with IDEA, state, and district requirements
- Participate in IEP meetings, team meetings, and professional development
- Create a structured, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment
Qualifications
- Valid Special Education Teaching Credential (Moderate/Severe or equivalent)
- Experience working with students with significant behavioral, emotional, and/or developmental needs
- Strong classroom management and collaboration skills
- Knowledge of behavior intervention strategies (ABA principles preferred)
- School-based experience preferred

- Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams
