Job Description

What You Will Do:

  • Provide families with information, skills, and support related to enhancing the skill development of the child
  • Prepare for and participate in Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) and Individualized Education Plan (IEP) evaluation processes
  • Curriculum planning, including the planned interaction of personnel, materials, and time and space, that leads to achieving the outcomes in the child’s IFSP
  • Provide services to Early On (EO) eligible and Michigan Mandatory Special Education (MMSE) eligible children and families
  • Provide service coordination for families in Early On
  • Oversee special education and progress monitoring services for all MMSE eligible children
  • Create and maintain a safe, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate group environment
  • Maintain accurate child and family records in compliance with program and state requirements
  • Establish and maintain rapport with children and families utilizing coaching strategies
  • Maintain effective communication and relationships with children, parents, administrators, school personnel and community representatives
  • Coordinate home visits efficiently and manage time effectively
  • Comply with school district policies and procedures
  • Effectively participate in meetings, staffings and other required district and building activities
  • Comply with Medicaid billing procedures
  • Regular and predictable attendance
  • Other duties as assigned


Works under the general supervision of the Supervisor of Birth to 3 Services.


Need to Have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree Required
  • Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with special education endorsement
  • Approval by the Michigan Department of Education in the area of Early Childhood

Working Conditions:
