Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our team as a full-time Special Education Teacher. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with students with special needs and will be committed to providing them with the best possible education. 

Responsibilities:

-Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs

-Understand a wide range of disabilities and how they impact students' education. 

-Provide direct instruction to students in a variety of subjects and grade levels

-Use a variety of teaching methods and materials to engage students and promote learning

-Collaborate with other teachers and support staff to ensure that students are receiving the appropriate services and accommodations

-Uses evidence based practices to deliver instruction

-Monitor and track student progress, and adjust instruction as needed

-Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and needs

-Schedule, attend and facilitate IEP meetings and complete the required paperwork in a timely manner

-Attend professional development sessions as required

-Upholds standards of confidentiality and sensitive information. 

-Redirect behavior using appropriate and evidence based strategies

-Familiar with Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports

 

Requirements:

-Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field

-State certification in Special Education

-Experience working with students with a variety of disabilities, including but not limited to, learning disabilities, emotional/behavioral disorders, and autism spectrum disorders

-Knowledge of special education laws and regulations

-Strong and timely communication and collaboration skills

-Ability to work independently and as part of a team

-Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced school environment.  

-Arrive to work on time daily

-Check email and communicate with partners frequently
