Special Education Teacher

Teachwell Solutions is seeking a dedicated and adaptable Special Education Teacher to serve students with diverse learning needs, including autism spectrum disorder, cognitive disabilities, and complex communication needs. This position offers the opportunity to work with students across a wide range of developmental and academic levels, from early childhood through 12th grade.

The ideal candidate will provide individualized, evidence-based instruction designed to support each student’s academic, social, behavioral, and functional growth. Instruction may occur in a variety of settings, including on-site classrooms at Teachwell, virtual learning environments, and potential hybrid models that combine both in-person and remote services.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student’s unique needs
• Deliver differentiated instruction using best practices in special education, including strategies for students with autism and significant support needs
• Utilize augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems and other communication supports as needed
• Monitor student progress and adjust instruction based on data-driven decision-making
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including therapists, families, and other education staff
• Provide support across environments, which may include classroom, community-based instruction, and virtual platforms
• Foster a structured, supportive, and inclusive learning environment that promotes independence and skill development

Work Environment:
This position is primarily based on-site at Teachwell, with opportunities to support students through virtual or hybrid learning models as needed. Flexibility is essential to meet the varying needs of students and programs.

Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education teaching certification
• Experience working with students with autism, cognitive disabilities, and/or complex communication needs preferred
• Knowledge of behavior intervention strategies and assistive technology
• Strong collaboration, organization, and communication skills
• Ability to adapt instruction across age ranges and learning environments
