Special Education Teacher

Applications are being sought for a full-time Special Education Teacher (LBS1) to provide instruction and case management to 6th-grade students on IEP's and 504's in both co-taught and special education classroom settings.

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

• Develop and implement individualized programs of instruction to meet the academic, social, emotional, and functional needs of students.
• Utilizing research-based programs, provide specialized instruction to address the goals and objectives documented on each student's IEP  in the areas of literacy, math, and executive functioning.
• Adapt general education curriculum and activities to meet students' needs, fostering an inclusive environment for all.
• Collaborate with administrators, related service providers, general education teachers, and parents to support the needs of students to ensure they are receiving instruction in the least restrictive environment.
• Evaluate student progress based on observations, data, and assessments, and update goals per the IEP timelines.

Qualifications: This position requires a valid Illinois Professional Educator License with a Learning Behavior Specialist 1 endorsement. Experience working as a case manager is preferred.
