Summary

A public charter school is seeking a Special Education Teacher to empower students with individualized learning plans. The school provides K–12 education focused on academic excellence, personal growth, and community engagement. This role delivers tailored instruction, fosters inclusion, and supports student progress through collaboration and innovation.

What You’ll Do

• Deliver instruction aligned to individualized education programs (IEPs)
• Develop lesson plans and adapt materials for student needs
• Provide small-group and one-on-one interventions
• Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff
• Track and report student progress with accuracy and consistency
• Establish and maintain positive classroom behavior standards
• Participate in IEP meetings with parents and case managers
• Engage parents through regular communication and conferences
• Support schoolwide special education planning and initiatives
• Contribute to staff meetings, committees, and professional learning

What You’ll Need

• Valid New Jersey Instructional Certificate with Special Education Endorsement (or eligibility)
• Bachelor’s degree and teaching experience as determined by the Board
• Knowledge of effective instructional strategies and classroom management
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Required criminal history background check and legal authorization to work in the U.S.
