Summary: In need of a Special Education Teacher to lead a multi-grade substantially separate classroom supporting students with significant intellectual, behavioral, and communication challenges. The ideal candidate brings experience in ABA, differentiated instruction, assistive technology, and toileting/personal care support. This is a high-impact role that blends curriculum adaptation, behavioral support, and multidisciplinary collaboration in a structured middle school setting. What You’ll Do: • Deliver individualized instruction aligned with IEPs in a substantially separate classroom • Write IEP goals, accommodations, transition plans, and monitor student progress • Supervise and direct Teaching Assistants supporting classroom instruction and ADLs • Adapt materials and curriculum to support a wide range of cognitive and behavioral needs • Collect and document data, including Medicaid billing and progress monitoring • Collaborate with BCBAs, OTs, PTs, SLPs, counselors, and vision specialists to support student goals • Support students with ADLs including toileting, transferring, mobility, and communication Experience You’ll Need: • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in progress required • DESE certification in Moderate or Severe Special Needs (or eligibility to obtain) • Experience with ABA, behavioral strategies, and assistive tech (e.g., AAC devices) • Ability to lift, transfer, and assist with physical/personal care as needed |
