Position Details:

  • Title 1: Resource Teacher
  • Location: Brooklyn Park, MN 55445
  • Duration: ASAP to June 8th, 2026 
  • Onsite/Virtual: Onsite
  • Position Type: Contract
  • Working Hours: 35 to 40 hours weekly, from Monday to Friday
  • Student Age Group: Elementary school
  • Case Load: Approximately 20 kids
  • Title 2: Special Education Teacher (This is shared position between two elementary schools that are 4 miles apart in Maple Grove, MN)
  • Location: Maple Grove, MN 55369
  • Duration: ASAP to June 8th, 2026 
  • Onsite/Virtual: Onsite
  • Position Type: Contract
  • Working Hours: 35 to 40 hours weekly, from Monday to Friday
  • Student Age Group: Elementary school
  • Case Load: Approximately 20 kids

Responsibilities: Special Education Teacher

  • Provide instruction and support in the curriculum areas for which employed.
  • Make appropriate use of instructional resources and technologies.
  • Implement the goals and objectives of the District and the school and/or program.
  • Write and implement individual student goals and objectives.
  • Evaluate student performance according to the goals and objectives on the Individual Educational Plan (IEP) used by the School District.
  • Promote student achievement.
  • Maintain required student records.
  • Make related reports to the principal as prescribed or authorized by the superintendent.
  • Maintain contact and communications with parents of students and work with them in the development of each student.
  • Perform classroom management duties and enforce District rules governing conduct.
  • Understand and be able to implement due process guidelines following state and federal rules, regulations, and District policy.

Qualifications: Special Education Teacher

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • MN teaching license in Special Education; DCD, ASD, or multiple preferred, OR a valid MN teaching license in another field and willing to obtain an Out of Field Permission.
  • Specific Special Ed licensure needed will vary based on enrollment.
  • Tier 3 or Tier 4 preferred; however, open to considering Tier 1 or Tier 2.
