TEACHING POSITION OPENING FOR THE 2025/2026 SCHOOL YEAR
POSITION: Special Education Teacher
GRADES: 6th – 12th
STATUS: Full-Time - 1.0 FTE
REQUIRED: Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with Special Education Endorsement
INCLUDE: Cover Letter, Resume, Professional References, Transcripts & Teaching Certificate
DESCRIPTION:
- Following and writing Individualized Education Plans
- Completing student progress notes
- Attending Special Education meetings
- Scheduling and attending Team Meetings
- Managing Student Assistant Team Folders
- Collect and document student testing/assignment accommodation data
- Knowledge and understanding of the general education standards that need to be met
- Knowledge and experience in accommodating and/or modifying Michigan Merit Curriculum
- Knowledge and experience in creating and implementing Functional Behavior Assessments and Plans
- Knowledge and experience in the completion of Manifestation Determination Reviews
- Knowledge and experience in the referral process as well as the REED (Review of Existing Educational Data/Documentation) process
- Must be patient and flexible
