Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year at the ACGC 5-12 Building. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with students with diverse learning needs and will be committed to fostering an inclusive and supportive classroom environment. This full-time position requires a collaborative approach to teaching and a strong ability to develop individualized education plans (IEPs) that meet the unique needs of each student.

Responsibilities
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs, ensuring alignment with state and federal regulations.
- Create and maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and participation.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and parents to support students’ academic and social-emotional growth.
- Assess and monitor student progress through formal and informal evaluations, adjusting instructional strategies as needed.
- Provide direct instruction and support to students in both one-on-one and small group settings.
- Utilize appropriate teaching strategies and assistive technology to enhance learning experiences for students with varying abilities.
- Participate in IEP meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and other collaborative planning sessions.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance and progress, reporting findings to parents and school administration.
- Stay current with best practices in special education and participate in ongoing professional development.
- Foster a supportive and respectful classroom culture that promotes diversity and inclusion.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field;
- Valid MN teaching license with endorsement in Special Education.
- Experience working with students with disabilities in an educational setting.
- Strong understanding of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
- Ability to adapt instructional methods and materials to meet diverse learning needs.
- Proficient in using technology and educational software to enhance learning.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and equitable learning environment for all students.

Work Days: 154.5 (146 School Days + 8.5 Teacher Days) ACGC operates on a 4 day school week schedule.
