JOB SUMMARY
Sizer School, a North Central Charter Essential School, is seeking a driven, dynamic, and experienced special education teacher to be a part of the high school instructional team. This educator is responsible for creating a classroom environment that supports all students. This candidate will bring a passion for supporting and implementing best instructional practices, wrap around student support services, and a commitment to further promote an already existing positive collaborative environment. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
●Provides specialized instruction for high school students.
●Provides inclusion support within content-area classrooms.
●Develops and writes Individualized Education Plans in collaboration with the IEP team.
●Manages a caseload of students with Individualized Education Plans.
●Chairs IEP meetings (annual reviews) for students on caseload.
●Maintains compliance with IDEA regulations.
●Works collaboratively with Grade Level Teams to plan for instruction.
●Completes required assessments for initial and 3 year re-evaluations.
QUALIFICATIONS
●Dedication to the Sizer School mission.
●Knowledge of best practices in special education instruction and assessment.
●Knowledge of curriculum design and Massachusetts Frameworks.
●A Bachelor’s Degree or higher from an accredited college or university.
●Highly qualified to teach in the assignment area. MA DESE License with SEI Endorsement preferred. Mandatory within the first year of employment.
●Experience working with a diverse population of students.
●Innovative team player with abundant energy and proven history of service.
●Strong communication and collaboration skills.
●Ability to pass CORI and National Criminal Background check
