Orange East Supervisory Union is seeking a dedicated and skilled Special Education Teacher or Interventionist to provide academic, behavioral, and emotional support to students in grades K through 12. This role requires close collaboration with general education teachers, other special educators, and service providers, to ensure inclusive, effective, and individualized education plans (IEPs) are developed and implemented.
Key Responsibilities:
Direct Student Support:
Provide individualized or small-group instruction tailored to students with a range of learning, behavioral, or emotional needs.
Implement research-based intervention strategies and monitor student progress toward IEP or intervention goals.
Use data to inform instruction, make adjustments, and evaluate effectiveness.
Consultation and Collaboration:
Collaborate regularly with general education teachers, intervention teams, school psychologists, counselors, and related service providers.
Participate in IEP meetings and student support team meetings to develop and revise goals and accommodations.
Serve as a resource to school staff for strategies that support inclusive practices and differentiated instruction
Program Development and Support:
Support the creation and maintenance of safe, structured, and supportive learning environments for all students

Salary Range:
The anticipated annual salary for this role is $46,738 – $90,067, based on experience, level of education. Compensation is determined by the district’s collective bargaining agreement, which considers factors such as degree level and years of service. This compensation range is provided in accordance with Vermont’s Pay Transparency Law and reflects a good faith estimate. Final salary may vary depending on qualifications, licensure, and other relevant factors
