Special Education Teacher (K–8)

Position Overview:
Mystic Valley is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to join our K–8 team.
In this role, you will deliver direct and indirect instructional services to students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and 504 Plans, ensuring academic growth and personal success within a supportive, structured environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide targeted instructional support aligned with IEP and 504 Plan goals.
Implement research-based, multisensory strategies to promote cognitive, academic, and language development.
Set clear, measurable learning objectives and monitor student progress across academic and behavioral domains.
Serve as case manager for students on your caseload, including the coordination and facilitation of IEP meetings.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including service logs, lesson plans, and progress reports.
Collaborate regularly with general education teachers, service providers, and families to ensure cohesive support.
Promote a positive classroom environment through effective behavioral management and proactive strategies.
Support standardized testing accommodations and ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations.
Contribute to curriculum planning, data review meetings, and professional learning communities.
Perform additional duties as needed, such as student supervision and classroom support.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in special education (required)
SEI Endorsement (required)
Strong knowledge of IEP and 504 Plan development and implementation
Excellent communication, collaboration, and data-driven decision-making skills
Proven ability to apply instructional best practices and manage diverse classroom needs
Willingness to grow professionally and incorporate feedback into daily practice
Must pass all applicable MTEL exams within one year of employment
Reporting Structure:
This is a full-time, school-year position reporting to the Head of Special Education. Regular performance reviews are conducted to support ongoing growth and excellence in practice.
