     K�2 Special Education Teacher
     East Ridge Elementary | Sweetwater ISD

    Sweetwater Independent School District is seeking a compassionate and skilled K�2 Special Education Teacher to join the team at East Ridge Elementary. We are committed to ensuring all students receive high-quality instruction and support, and we are looking for an educator who is passionate about meeting the diverse needs of early learners through individualized instruction and inclusive practices.

    Position Overview

    The K�2 Special Education Teacher will provide specialized instruction and support to students with disabilities in both inclusion and pull-out settings. The ideal candidate will design and implement individualized education programs (IEPs), collaborate closely with general education teachers, and use data-driven practices to accelerate student learning and development.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
    • Provide targeted instruction in foundational literacy, math, and social-emotional skills
    • Deliver services in both inclusion and small-group/pull-out settings
    • Collaborate with general education teachers to ensure access to Tier 1 instruction
    • Use progress monitoring and assessment data to adjust instruction
    • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with state and federal guidelines
    • Build strong relationships with students, families, and staff
    • Participate actively in ARD meetings, PLCs, and campus professional development

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university
    • Valid Texas teaching certification in Special Education (EC�12)
    • Valid Core Subjects EC�6 certification preferred
    • Knowledge of early childhood development and differentiated instruction
    • Experience with IEP development, progress monitoring, and behavior supports preferred

    Teacher Incentive Allotment (TIA)
