Qualifications:
●Massachusetts Department of Education Teacher License-Certified Grades 5-8 in Special Education; Highly Qualified status in subject area(s)
●Strong ability to relate and work with the middle level learner
●Experience in Response to Intervention, PBIS
●CPI Training preferred
●Ability to differentiate instruction and incorporate a variety of learning activities/ experiences to inspire, motivate and challenge our middle level students
●Experience working with LEP/FLEP students
●Familiarity with the MA Frameworks for Grade 5-8
●Excellent technology skills/familiarity with IEP programming
●SEI training, Bilingual Preferred
●Experience to work interdisciplinary with content colleagues on interdisciplinary initiatives
●A positive person, willing to become involved in the academic and social aspects of school life to support student success, school spirit, and school climate and culture
●A self-reflective, active learner capable of interactive dialogue with all members of the school community
●Strong familiarity with MA frameworks and special education regulations

Responsibilities:
●Liaison for students on caseload
●Familiarity with MCAS and MCAS Alt
●Facilitate Team meetings
●Develop IEPs, progress reports, evaluations, scheduling students with a variety of special education needs
●Administer/interpret variety of diagnostic instruments
●Strong co-teaching background
●Experience teaching and motivating middle school students in team setting
●Highly organized and efficient with paperwork
●Work collaboratively with teachers in other contents and special areas
●Assess strengths and needs of students, provide appropriate differentiated instruction and communicate assessment results to parents, teachers, administrators
●Analyze all assessment data related to student performance and use that data to improve instructional practices
●Communicate regularly with parents/guardians/community agencies and peers to ensure student success
●Creatively plan and implement instruction in a small group and pull out classroom setting
●Support and provide strategies for students with social, emotional and behavioral challenges
