Summary

Robinson is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with diverse learning needs. This full-time position requires a commitment to fostering an inclusive classroom environment that promotes academic, social, and emotional growth for all students.


Responsibilities

- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to the unique needs of each student.

- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and parents to ensure a cohesive approach to student learning and development.

- Conduct assessments to evaluate student progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed.

- Create engaging lesson plans that accommodate various learning styles and abilities.

- Maintain accurate records of student progress, behavior, and IEP documentation.

- Provide direct instruction and support to students in both one-on-one and small group settings.

- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and collaboration.

- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and any concerns.

- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in special education.

- Collaborate with school counselors, psychologists, and other specialists to support the holistic development of students.


Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.

- Valid state teaching certification in Special Education for primary education.

- Experience working with students with disabilities in a classroom setting.

- Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of educators and support staff.

- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

- Knowledge of current educational technologies and resources to enhance learning.

- CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
