A Child's Place at Unity House of Troy is seeking passionate and qualified Master’s Level Special Education Teachers (Birth–Grade 2 certified) to join our welcoming Special Education Department. $5000 sign on bonus for eligible candidates

Salaried Monday – Friday 35hrs/week

Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Special Education
  • NYS Certification: Students with Disabilities, Birth–Grade 2
  • Proficient writing and computer skills
  • Ability to implement and adapt behavior support plans
  • Reliable transportation & valid NYS driver’s license

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess developmental and educational needs of preschoolers with special needs
  • Design and implement individualized, evidence-based instruction
  • Perform student assessment and evaluation required
  • Adapt behavioral plans accordingly
  • Work with a supportive multi-disciplinary team
  • Collaborate with all staff, teachers, therapists, administrators and families to benefit the children served
  • Create inclusive, supportive classroom environments
  • Conduct evaluations and maintain required documentation
  • Promote a classroom of inclusion and belonging
